Flower power

The past few days has been very flower heavy. Which is fine by me I like flowers. :)

M4, a cotton pickin' memorial, and sea serpent

Here are three tattoos from Friday and Saturday.

The M4 will be coming back the week after next to be finished. It's going to be all grey scaled so I will have a nice challenge keeping the 81mm HE mortar rounds and M4 distinct from each other. Excited to get to work on it again.

The cotton plants were a delightful challenge. I like how it has a nice night time feel as if your seeing the cotton plants by the glow of the moon. Really lent itself to being a memorial tattoo for a man who liked to pick cotton to relax. Still wanting to get my shading and line work a bit less choppy but I'm sure practice will make perfect given time.

The sea serpent was a lot of fun. The serpent is based on the sea serpents and dolphin forms found in illustrations and statues from the a lot of the sea mans era. I'm still working out traditional shading and composition but with each traditional piece I do I fall more in love with it.

Caleb's reworked lady

Yesterday I reworked a pre-existing tattoo that Caleb had gotten in Korea. I know his Korean artist lifted the original design from another well known artist which is a bummer. :/ However I did enjoy getting to fix this little lady up. We corrected her neck line and brightened her up a bit. So while the design wasn't mine it was very fun to do.

Sweet Tatties!

This is my first post to this blog. :) Totally stoked to soon be posting work that I've done as well as other random tid-bits (hopefully weekly). I am very new to tattooing, actually still in the first year out of my apprenticeship, and it is my hope that this blog will be a place for me to reflect on my successes and the inevitable mistakes. Hopefully more successes than mistakes.:) Maybe also in sharing my work that I might be able to glean a little from others of you out there in the industry with more experience or help others along who are at the same stage in their journey as well.
